Lilly is one week old! She is doing great. they moved her to the not so critical part of the nursery, and took out her IV. She is getting closer and closer to come home. She has been doing awesome with breast-feeding, she is so strong, she lifts her head and moves it all the time. She is getting more alert as well. I can't wait to get her home she will be so much fun.

5 days old. Lilly is such a strong girl! She is done with photo therapy, and just finishing up some antibiotics. and now we are trying to master nursing. Its a lot of hard work for her, so she is doing half of her feedings by herself and the other half she gets through a feeding tube. We are hoping she will be able to come home next week as long as she keeps her temp up and is able to get eating down. We can't wait to get her home!!

Lilly is doing amazing today. She is off the oxygen and breathng on her own, we are just trying to get her to suck, were going to keep trying until she does so we dont have to strat a feeding tube.
She also had her first visit to the beauty parlor to get her hair washed. she liked the 'bucket dump' the best.

Lilly Rae

Lilly decided to come to us. As kristofer said he came home from work and I told him I'd been leaking fluid since about noon. We called Labor and Delivery and they said "sound like your water broke you need to come in and get checked." So we got the bag ready andthe anesthes took the trip to the hospital. The ran a few tests and said "yep your water has been ruptured. We are going to put you on some meds to start contractions and get this going"

So the gave me the meds and i planned on going all natural. I did that for about two hours and I looked at Kris and said "i dont think think i can do this, Will you get the nurse and an epidural?" The nurse brought in the anesthesiologist and i was more scared for that than anything else (so far) i sat on the bed and they put in the numbing solution, then missed their 'target' so had to do it again and got it the second time. that kicked in and i was feeling a lot better. But the they put in a catheter which made me VERY uncomfortable. so i didnt sleep all night. Then in the morning i was still not feeling progress, they checked me and opened the cervix, about two hours later i got really bad pressure and cramps.

The doctor came in checked me and said "are you ready to push?" i said "um.... yep?" they got me all ready, took me back to the OR got us all set up. then after about 4 contractions she was out and CRYING, they showed her to me and took her behind me. She weighed 3 lbs 15 oz she was 17 inches long. Kris got to watch what they were doing she struggled with breathing for just a minute, they got her breathing nice and strong. i was taken back to my room and they took Lilly to the NICU.

i came back to my room and my mom was there, had to wait about an hour for my legs to wake up. Durring that time Kris and my mom went and saw Lilly, they came back and i was able to 'walk' to a wheelchair, so they took my mom and i down to NICU to see my baby girl. she look great, she was on the oxygen, but still looked very good. I talked to her and she talked back to me and held my little finger for a while.

We are just waiting to see how she does through the nigh, they are going to try taking her off her oxygen, if she can do without, if she can then we work on feeding. We need to make sure she can suck, if she does well she should be home soon!

We will keep everyone updated as well as we can.

Love you all.

So...I come home from work today and Cammie says..."Fluid has been slowly leaking down my legs since about noon." Well okay. Let's go BACK to the hospital. Long story short, her water broke, they induced her, and we are waiting so very impatiently for this little stinker to join us. More to come...

Little Scare

This morning we had a little scare, I had been feeling a lot of pressure throughout the night so I called the doctor and asked what to do, they recommended going into the hospital to get checked out. Turns out it was no big deal like i had suspected. No dilation, not consistent contractions, so after about two hours i got sent home. I've been relaxing and laying down. The pressure is normal it is just Lilly's head getting comfy in my pelvis. So wonderful of her to do that. I have another doctor appointment on Tuesday, I don't think anything else will happen until or even after then. Just wanted to give you all a little update on what had happened today.

Countdown for Baby Lilly

So as most of you know, we've had quite a difficult pregnancy. We are hoping she stays cooking for a bit longer, but little Miss Lilly is her fathers daughter and very stubborn, so we may not be seeing her until October ;). hopefully I don't go too far past my due date. (August 30). I will put up some fat belly photos weekly.

33 Weeks
At the last doctor appointment they told us Lilly is only in the 4th percentile right now and weighs 3.5 lb. She is just a little guy, but she should be putting on more weight. Because of this I will be going in for an ultrasound appointment every 2 weeks instead of every 4 to measure her. My cervix is still holding strong and is closed. So we will see what they say next time I go in, which is next Tuesday and Thursday for the ultrasound.
